CAREER SUMMARY
Nationally recognized pandemic preparedness expert and Business Continuity Management consultant with three years direct experience in pandemic planning and 10 years experience in overall Business Continuity Management. Pandemic planning experience includes both global corporate and local community planning. Prepared training courses on pandemic preparedness at national conferences and local universities. Recently named Adjunct Assistant Professor at local university to teach pandemic planning. Founder of volunteer-led PandemicPrep.Org in 2006. Became a Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) in 2001. Recently passed the Master Business Continuity Professional (MBCP) certification exam and am awaiting certification approval. Practiced law for 8 years and continue to maintain law license.
ACHIEVEMENTS – PANDEMIC PREPAREDNESS
Implemented pandemic plan for large global company identifying various actions to be taken during WHO Phases 4, 5 and 6, including analysis of critical functions and whether functions are jeopardized with 50% absenteeism, purchase of personal protective equipment, negotiating additional cleaning regimen during pandemic, analysis of Telework capacity, preparing communications plans, ensuring critical vendors have pandemic plans, working with local Public Health departments and more.
- Planned and executed mandatory pandemic education for local employees in partnership with American Red Cross, covering basic pandemic education, the company’s planned response, and what individuals can do (the last topic by Red Cross).
- Performed pandemic exercises for company management, individual departments and for several critical vendors, and required testing of work from home capabilities via VPN for each critical department.
- Founder and Co-Chair of PandemicPrep.Org from 2006 to 2009; became Executive Director in 2009. PandemicPrep.Org is a consortium of businesses, organizations, universities, schools, hospitals, Federal, State (Missouri and Illinois), and local government agencies, working together to better prepare the St. Louis region for a pandemic. Spoken numerous times in the community on pandemic preparedness. Prepared document “Ideally Prepared Community for Pandemic”. Planned quarterly seminars, created website, brought public and private sector together in common cause.

- Member, State of Missouri’s Pandemic Influenza Continuity of Business, Government and Life Subcommittee, 2006-2007. Output was Booklet Preparing for an Influenza Pandemic: a Guide to Planning for Business, part of Missouri’s Ready in 3 Pandemic Flu program.
- Member, State of Missouri’s Community Pandemic Planning Readiness Subcommittee, 2008-2009. Output will be Booklet Assuring Food Supplies during an Influenza Pandemic: a Guide for Community Leaders. To be published by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services in summer, 2009.
- Presented seminar on Pandemic Preparedness at Disaster Recovery Journal SpringWorld in 2007 and 2009.
- Recently performed pandemic exercise locally and at Disaster Recovery Journal SpringWorld in March 2009.
- Recently named Adjunct Assistant Professor of Community Health at St. Louis University’s School of Public Health. Scheduled to teach course on Business Continuity and Pandemic Planning for Fall 2009 session.
- Taught two day course (May 5 & 6) on Pandemic Preparedness for the Center for the Application of Information Technology (CAIT) at Washington University in St. Louis, MO.
